DESIGN RATIONALE
Patient comfort and compliance are the foundation for successful osteoarthritis bracing treatments. OA braces must comfortably relieve the pressure and pain of the affected knee compartment.
The V-ForceTM is engineered to be one of the lightest single hinge OA braces available for today’s active-ageing population. Analysis of comprehensive biomechanical data has demonstrated that the tibia rotates during terminal extension through the weightbearing phase of gait. By designing a brace that anticipates this rotation, a constant predictable force can be exerted to relieve the affected compartment. The tibial lever arm has been constructed to account for this axial rotation and positions the brace down the mid-line of the tibia during the mid- phase of gait, when maximum grip and force are needed most. This patented technology allows patients to experience the ultimate comfort and support.
